Foraging for Basketry and Wild Crafts @ Sky Nursery (3 sessions to choose from)

  • Sky Nursery 18528 Aurora Ave N Shoreline, WA United States (map)

I’m thrilled to be partnering with my household’s go-to plant nursery (thank you Sky!) to offer 3 - 1.5 hour sessions to fellow plant appreciators. At 11am, 1pm, and 3pm on Saturday, Aug 3rd - registration is below.

I encourage you to take a break from weeding and meet me at Sky Nursery to learn how you can turn some of those “weeds” into creative projects. I’ve gained a whole new appreciation of my garden flora.

We’ll have a conversation about some of the incredible plants that grow here in the Pacific Northwest and explore ways to identify, gather, store and use them to create baskets and crafts that bring nature inside. Whether you live in an urban, suburban or rural setting there are forage-able weaving materials to be found. You might have to explore with new eyes and set reminders in your calendar...but there are goodies to be had year round.

I will share about my personal forager’s code of ethics and encourage you to create your own. We all need to care for the plants we harvest, preserve the environments they grow in, respect the owners of the land, and keep ourselves safe.

This a great workshop for beginners - leveraging show & tell & discussion. There are 100’s of plants and crafts to explore but you will walk away with some fun easy ways to get started.

Class space is limited - preregister to guarantee a spot. I expect limited registration day-of at Sky Nursery. I am requesting minimum age of 12 accompanied by an adult.

Class fee is non-refundable but is transferable.
