EMAIL REGISTRATION ONLY - Foraging for Basketry and Wild Crafts

  • Field and Forest Crafts Classroom 12535 15th Ave NE, Ste 120 Seattle, WA, 98125 United States (map)

Let’s get to know some of the incredible plants that grow here in the Pacific Northwest and explore ways to identify, gather, store and use them to create baskets and crafts that bring nature inside. Whether you live in an urban, suburban or rural setting there are forage-able weaving materials to be found. You might have to explore with new eyes and set reminders in your calendar...but there are goodies to be had year round.

I will share about my personal forager’s code of ethics and encourage you to create your own. We all need to care for the plants we harvest, preserve the environments they grow in, respect the owners of the land, and keep ourselves safe.

BONUS ACTIVITY - learn to make hand-woven cordage from plants! Every good wild crafter should know how to make cordage. Warning: very addictive. :)

This a great workshop for beginners - leveraging show & tell & discussion. There are 100’s of plants and crafts to explore but you will walk away with some fun easy ways to get started.

I am requesting a minimum age of 12 accompanied by an adult. Class fee is non-refundable but is transferable.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

*If you would like to attend, please email me at erin@fieldandforestcrafts.com and we’ll see if we can make it work.
