Weeknight Weave: Willow Bark Earrings

  • Field and Forest Crafts Classroom 12535 15th Avenue Northeast, Ste 120 Seattle, WA, 98125 United States (map)

Come play with willow bark! Make a pair a custom earrings for you and a friend (or 2 for you…I’m not gonna judge…I have like 6 pairs).

Willow is an incredible plant offering medicine in its bark (used by humans for more than 3500 years!), habitat for birds in its swaying branches, stability for river and stream banks with its dense roots and so much more.

Willow bark can only be harvested for a few months in the spring and early summer but if dried and storied properly can last for years. For weaving, willow bark can be used to make baskets, hats, jewelry, art, and more.

Let’s spend some time getting to know willow bark. I have antique brass finish or surgical steel for your hooks and a stash of natural beads to add more fun.

Minimum Age: 14 with accompanying adult.

Class registration minimum: 6 by Dec 2nd. If the class minimum is not reached students will be notified and refunded the full workshop price.

Project: 2 PAIRS OF WILLOW BARK EARRING

Class registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if you want to sell or give your spot to a friend, I’m happy to welcome someone else in your place. Due to the nature of the projects (materials/soaking, etc) and the small class sizes, I’m unable to support refunds or credits.
