Now is the season of lavender! Come enjoy an evening in my garden and learn to make a fuseaux de lavande! Lavender wands can trace their roots back to the 18th century in the Provence region of France. With the rise of the perfume trade, lavender moved from a medicinal herb to a sought after essential oil.
We’ll be creating with all natural fibers - using either cotton ribbon* or, if you are feeling adventurous, dandelion stems to delicately weave around the fragrant flowers. Once the blooms are enclosed they are safe to toss in a linen drawer or add fragrance to any space. The scent can lasts for years and easily refreshed with a drop of essential oil.
*It’s become quite hard (and pricey) to find non-synthetic satin. Satin was originally made of silk. We’ll be using hand-dyed cotton ribbon keeping plastic out of our natural craft.
Class fee includes supplies for 2 wands. Additional supplies are $5 each.
