FULL - Play with Plants Woven Vessel @ Dunn Gardens (NW Seattle)

  • Dunn Gardens 13533 Northshire Road Northwest Seattle, WA, 98177 United States (map)

This workshop is sold out. I believe Dunn Gardens is keeping a waitlist but you should contact them directly.

*Same workshop offered at my classroom on June 1st. JUNE WORKSHOP

I created this workshop because I wanted a beginner project that let you get to know as many different locally available plants as I could. From soft fibers like daylily and siberian iris to willow and cedar bark. Every vessel is unique because each student will find a special way to weave it all together.

You’ll create a one-of-a-kind woven glass vessel for your home - or to give as a gift. We’ll create a simple starburst willow bark bottom and work our way up exploring flexible leaves and stems and use willow, maple and cedar bark for plaited contrast.

All workshop materials have been harvest by hand sustainably and responsibly from here in the Puget Sound.

This workshop is a great introduction to the weaving skills of twining, plaiting, and weaving on a form.

Class size max: 10 students

Minimum age: 14

REGISTRATION DETAILS:

Registration opens on March 3rd. Dunn Gardens will manage communication and registration. $75 for Dunn Gardens members and $100 for non-members.
