Foraging for Basketry and Wild Crafts @ Carnation Farms

  • Carnation Farms 28901 Northeast Carnation Farm Road Carnation, WA, 98014 United States (map)

Let’s have a conversation about some of the incredible plants that grow here in the Pacific Northwest and explore ways to identify, gather, store and use them to create baskets and crafts that bring nature inside. Whether you live in an urban, suburban or rural setting there are forage-able weaving materials to be found. You might have to explore with new eyes and set reminders in your calendar...but there are goodies to be had year round.

Daylily, daffodil, dandelion, crocosmia, iris, cattails, juncus, bulrush, ivy, honeysuckle, wisteria, dogwood, willow and more!

I will share about my personal forager’s code of ethics and encourage you to create your own. We all need to care for the plants we harvest, preserve the environments they grow in, respect the owners and keepers of the land, and be safe…for ourselves and nature.

This workshop is for beginners - leveraging show & tell & discussion. There are 100’s of plants and crafts to explore but you will walk away with some fun easy ways to get started.
